Youthmappers
We are a global community of learners and scholars who create and use open geographic data that directly address locally defined development challenges worldwide. Student-led chapters work locally and collaboratively across countries to help create resilient communities. Capitalizing on web-based open geospatial technologies, our mission is to cultivate a generation of young leaders to unite and exchange, in order to create resilient communities and to define their world by mapping it. Our work expressly links supply and demand for geospatial knowledge by addressing specific needs for geographic information to specific development objectives in targeted countries, creating new, quality, localized geospatial data in unmapped places of the world. This effort synergizes with and fills a unique niche among a growing set of actors related to volunteer humanitarian or crisis mapping, and to expand these efforts to also address longer term and chronic development needs around resilience. The new data created is open and accessible to the public using the OpenStreetMap platform under the hashtag #YouthMappers to ensure it is freely available for the greater public good, particularly local populations planning for the welfare and vitality of their own communities. The consortium also encourages that the open spatial data created will be used in meaningful research and analysis to directly address specific international development challenges. Students gain new skills and can also use this data in their own research in a great variety of studies on issues that lend themselves to be visualized through mapping. The Center for Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) is a National Science Foundation sponsored Nanosystems Engineering Research Center (NERC). ASSIST develops and employs nanotechnology enabled energy harvesting and storage, ultra-low power electronics, and sensors to create innovative, battery-free, body-powered, and wearable health monitoring systems. This Center received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2012 for five years of research, renewable out to 2022. ASSIST is enabling a paradigm shift in health informatics by creating wearable nanotechnologies that monitor individual health parameters and environmental exposures. Long-term, scientifically accurate sensing enables patients, doctors, and scientists to make direct correlations between health parameters and environmental exposures. The Association for Creatine Deficiencies is a non-profit organization committed to providing patient, family, and public education to advocate for early intervention through newborn screening, and to promote and fund medical research for treatments and cures for cerebral creatine deficiency syndromes. Cerebral Creatine Deficiency Syndromes (CCDS) are inborn errors of metabolism, which interrupt the formation or transportation of creatine. Creatine is necessary to increase adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which provides energy to all the cells in the body. Creatine is essential to sustain the high energy levels needed for muscle and brain development. THERE ARE THREE CEREBRAL CREATINE DEFICIENCY SYNDROMES- Creatine Transporter Deficiency (CTD)- Guanidinoacetate Methyltransferase Deficiency (GAMT)- Arginine: Glycine Amidinotransferase Deficiency (AGAT) SYMPTOMS Symptoms can include, but are not limited to: developmental delay, hypotonia, movement disorders, feeding intolerances, hyperactivity, expressive speech delay, language delay, seizures, or autistic-like behavior. It is encouraged that an individual with any of these presentations be screened for CCDS as early as possible. Click here for screening information. CCDS patients are frequently misdiagnosed with cerebral palsy as infants and as toddlers. Also, as autism or developmental delay in children. PREVALENCE The exact prevalence of Cerebral Creatine Deficiency Syndromes is unknown. Yet, sources estimate that approximately 1% of individuals with intellectual disabilities of unknown origin may have a Cerebral Creatine Deficiency Syndrome. It is also estimated that Creatine Transporter Deficiency (CTD) represents the second largest cause of x-linked mental disability behind Fragile X syndrome.

The Austin Institute for Clinical Research (AICR) is a dermatology research organization devoted to the performance of high-quality clinical trials while focusing on patient safety and retention. Our mission statement is simple: Through good clinical practices and a safety-first mentality, we strive to produce excellent data for, and build relationships with, Sponsors and CROs.
