Network For Business Sustainability Nbs
The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS) is dedicated to making business more sustainable. We do this by sharing evidence-based guidance for business leaders thinking ahead. More than business leaders, researchers and students from around the world contribute to and follow our work. We also facilitate a community of 170+ sustainability research centres in business schools around the world. NBS's main office is at the Ivey Business School (Western University, London, Canada), with a francophone office at L’Université du Québec à Montréal (Montreal, Canada). While we are headquartered in Canada, it’s our global membership that drives our impact. Together, members of NBS envision a world in which business activity helps communities flourish within planetary boundaries. “Business as usual” is falling short of these ideals. New ways of thinking are needed to move beyond the status quo. That’s where our work comes in. Our members are knowledgeable in a range of business areas. For more than a decade, NBS has been creating space for these business leaders and researchers to exchange ideas and push each other’s thinking. We share their ideas through our podcasts, articles, reports and meetings. The result is a huge collection of quality content, mobilized worldwide. To see examples of our work, follow us, check out our website, or subscribe to our newsletter:

University Of Calgary Solar Team
The University of Calgary Solar Team's purpose is to educate the community about sustainable energy and to serve as an inter-disciplinary project through which students and faculty from various departments can collaborate in supporting sustainable energy. Our Team was founded in late 2004 in response to the announcement that the North American Solar Challenge (NASC) would end its km race in Calgary in July of 2005. Although the original team had only one third the resources and half the time of its competitors, they would go on to finish first in their class and 10th overall at the World Solar Challenge (WSC) in Australia in October 2005. Since then, they have participated in WSC in October 2007, placing 13th overall, and in NASC in June 2008, placing 6th overall. Today, the team faces an even greater challenge: to build upon its past successes and to continue its commitment to educate the public about sustainable energy.

The Labour Market Group
The Labour Market Group (LMG) is one of 26 workforce planning boards across Ontario funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD). Servicing Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts, we engage various community stakeholders in a consultative and inclusive local labour market planning process. Annually, the Board engages the communities of Nipissing and Parry Sound in consultative process that results in a Local Labour Market Plan (LLMP). The plan includes workforce development strategies that are implemented through community partnerships. The partnerships address the workforce development challenges and issues identified during the planning process. The LLMP report consolidates a considerable volume of information so that community planning can be undertaken with the full knowledge of the most recent workforce trends in the catchment area. Thus the LLMP report serves as a strategic tool for the purpose of building community partnerships. The Board, its staff and community stakeholders employ the LLMP report as a key source of labour market information and a long term community action plan for labour force development. The Labour Market Group area encompasses the City of North Bay, as well as several smaller, diverse towns and villages including: Parry Sound, Burk's Falls, Sundridge, South River, Callander, Mattawa, Powassan, West Nipissing and Temagami.

Meaningful insight requires direct engagement with stakeholders. Our team conducts focused, human-driven interviews to uncover current perspectives, intentions, and emerging shifts that cannot be captured through published sources alone. In a rapidly evolving landscape, we help clients translate these insights into clear narratives and forward-looking strategies to support both corporate and product decision-making.
