Der SICP – Software Innovation Campus Paderborn an der Universität Paderborn ist ein interdisziplinärer Forschungs- und Innovationsverbund, in dem Unternehmen und Wissenschaft digitale Innovationen gemeinsam erforschen und umsetzen. In unseren fünf Kompetenzbereichen Cyber-Physical Systems, Digital Business, Digital Security, Smart Systems und Software Engineering entwickeln wir fachgebietsübergreifend neue Konzepte, Methoden und Technologien u.a. für verteilte und intelligente Systeme, sichere drahtlose Kommunikation, agile und menschenzentrierte Entwicklung sozio-technischer Systeme, digitale Geschäftsmodelle, datengetriebene Entscheidungen und intelligentes Kundenmanagement. Dabei betrachten wir digitale Innovationen immer als eine enge Verzahnung von Organisation und IT.

GHGA is operating a secure national omics data infrastructure for Germany that provides a framework for the use of human genome data for research purposes while preventing data misuse. By bridging the gap between research and medical care, GHGA creates an opportunity for researchers to effectively use both data and technology to develop new therapies and diagnostic tools. As german node of the federated European Genome-Phenome Archive (EGA), GHGA makes data sets easy to find, accessible and optimally usable beyond borders - enabling researchers to shape future international standards for data exchange and take on leading roles in international research consortia (e.g, the 1+ Million European Genomes Initiative and The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH)).

Eklipse was created in 2016 to help governments, institutions, businesses, and NGOs make better-informed decisions when it comes to biodiversity and ecosystem services in Europe. It has already answered 12 requests on a wide range of often contentious topics, by synthesizing the best available knowledge from both scientists and other knowledge holders. A European Union funded project until November 2020, it is now managed by Alternet, the European Science-Policy Interface on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, from December 2020. Chair For Computational Analysis Of Technical Systems At Rwth Aachen University
Our institute, founded by Prof. Behr in October 2004, was initially located at Melaten in the Herwart-Opitz-Haus, Steinbachstraße 53B. In May 2009, we moved to the Rogowski building in Schinkelstraße 2 where we can be found together with the other CCES institutes. We occupy the second floor. Currently, our staff numbers 28 people; nine non-scientific co-workers, fifteen doctoral students, two postdocs, and two professors. Moreover, we are a member of the Center for Computational Engineering Science, the Virtual Reality Center Aachen and the graduate school Aachen Institute for Advanced Study in Computational Engineering Science, which has been founded in 2006 in the Excellence Initiative of the German government. AICES offers a new doctoral program for Bachelor and Master students enabling a shortened and attractive path to the doctorate. It is a common project of 28 institutes coming from eight different departments and divisions of RWTH Aachen. In 2010 we were awarded the FAMOS prize for a family-friendly working environment. Additionally, we foster a high level of internationality at our institute, for example reflected in the numerous foreign students preparing their theses under our supervision.

In the innovation + transfer network of the FVV, globally operating manufacturers of energy carriers, energy systems, sustainable powertrains and prime movers such as vehicle / aircraft / industrial engines, fuel cells and turbo machines, together with their suppliers and development service providers, conduct in close cooperation with universities and other research institutions pre-competitive, industrial collective research on future technologies. The aim is to operate energy converters – engines, hybrid powertrains, turbines, compressors, turbochargers and fuel cells – with renewable energy sources in new,(partly) electrified, integrated and digitalised conversion systems in a more efficient, cleaner and sustainable way – to the benefit of society, climate, environment and industry. The innovative power of the industry and its economic success make a significant contribution to social prosperity. The German Reference Centre for Ethics in the Life Sciences (DRZE) is a national documentation and information centre for the entire field of ethics in the biomedical sciences in Germany.
