Established in 1993, Puskapol UI is a research center under Institute for Social and Political Research and Development, FISIP Universitas Indonesia. As a university-based research center, our organization carries out two missions: first, to produce research-based publications and knowledge products which uphold scientific principles; and second, to seek, develop, and produce policy alternatives and research-based advocacy for problem-solving. Since 2017, Puskapol UI’s activities focus on academic research and community services, such as research, academic and political discussion, workshops, training, advocacy, and consultancy. In doing so, we worked with various institutions, including government ministries, electoral management bodies, parliamentary caucuses and committees, political parties, national and foreign university-based research, civil society organizations, private sectors, and international donors. Puskapol UI has also collaborated with many other CSOs and donor agencies working on issues of electoral reform, women and politics, parliamentary studies, and local politics. Puskapol UI also engages in close cooperation with governmental ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and the Ministry for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, and maintains good relationships with members of parliament at both national and local level. These collaborations have made it possible for Puskapol UI to influence public opinion and the policy-making process on its core issues. Our institution strongly upholds the principles of independence as well as commitment to conduct our studies and research in accordance with academic norms. Therefore, the involvement of Puskapol UI in high-level advocacy activities (e.g government, bureaucracy, parliament, and political parties) has always been based on the principle of independence and commitment to maintain our integrity as a university-based research center.

Visi LANSKAP Indonesia adalah menciptakan kehidupan ekonomi, sosial dan politik yang lebih baik melalui kebijakan-kebijakan terbaik yang bertumpu pada bukti-bukti empiris (evidence-based policy) yang dihasilkan melalui kajian-kajian yang akurat dan objektif. Misi LANSKAP Indonesia adalah melakukan kajian, penelitian, dan atau analisa bidang ekonomi, politik, dan kebijakan publik, menyelenggarakan training politik dan kebijakan publik, memberikan asistensi kepada pemerintah dan pemerintah daerah, serta menyediakan informasi yang berkualitas dan dapat diakses oleh masyarakat umum.
