Project Als
Project ALS identifies and funds the most promising scientific research that will lead to the first effective treatments and a cure for ALS - a brain disease that is closely related to Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s diseases. Historically, ALS research was conducted by researchers working separately on various aspects of the disease. Project ALS changed that approach dramatically by requiring researchers and doctors from many disciplines to work together, share data openly, and meet shared milestones. The new paradigm for brain disease research, Project ALS recruits the world’s best scientists and doctors to work together—rationally and aggressively—toward a better understanding of the ALS disease process and, in parallel, better therapeutic strategies.

Project Vox
Project Vox concerns an important, relatively recent, scholarly development in philosophy: the acknowledgement that a number of early modern women have been unjustly ignored in our narratives of the history of philosophy. From Mary Astell, Lady Masham, Margaret Cavendish and Anne Conway in England to Émilie Du Châtelet in France, many women played significant roles in the development of modern philosophy, but their contributions have often gone unnoticed. Our website has three primary goals: first, it seeks to provide students at all levels with the materials they need to begin exploring the rich philosophical ideas of Astell, Cavendish, Conway, Du Châtelet, Masham, Princess Elizabeth, Shepherd, Sor Juana, and Van Schurman; second, it aims to provide teachers with the material they need to incorporate these figures into their courses; third and finally, it aims to help transform our current conception of the canon. Our project is generously supported by Duke University Libraries.

Pu Industrial Training & Assessment Center
The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI’s Industrial Assessment Center (IAC), a program funded by the Department of Energy (DOE), provides complimentary energy assessments for small to medium sized companies to aid in improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing productivity. A team of highly skilled engineering faculty and students conduct energy assessments to identify immediate opportunities for companies to save energy and reduce cost. The IAC assessment process is confidential and simple, never interrupting production. For each audit, the IAC works with the client on establishment of baselines, conducts an on-site energy audit, and provides the company with a comprehensive report. The IAC audit team will identify opportunities to make the company more energy efficient, which will be detailed in a comprehensive report that fully explains the recommendations, provides the potential savings with detailed calculations, estimates implementation costs, and computes payback times. The decision for implementing recommendations is at the company’s discretion as there is no obligation. To see if your company qualifies for a free IAC energy audit, click here. For additional information regarding the IAC, please visit or contact the IAC at iupuiiac@iupui.edu.

Socionomics Institute
Our mission is to advance the study of social mood and its impact on social actions. The Socionomist, our monthly subscription publication, helps readers understand and prepare for major changes in social mood. Most economists, historians and sociologists presume that events determine society's mood. But Socionomics hypothesizes the opposite: that social mood determines the character of social events. The events of history -such as investment booms and busts, politics, population, and even peace and war - are the products of a naturally occurring pattern of social-mood fluctuation. Such events, therefore, are not randomly distributed, as is commonly believed, but are in fact probabilistically predictable. Socionomics also posits that the stock market is the best meter of a society's aggregate mood, that news is irrelevant to social mood, and that financial and economic decision-making are fundamentally different in that financial decisions are motivated by the herding impulse while economic choices are guided by supply and demand. The Socionomist, our monthly research review, is designed to help readers prepare for important social changes that most people never see coming.
