Seine Einstellung zur Arbeit lässt sich in einen Satz wiedergeben: „Arbeite, liefere Qualität, Erfolg kommt von allein.“ In einer Zeit, in der es auch für die nicht immer einfach war, setzte er konsequent auf die Einhaltung von Qualitätsstandards und Terminen als Erfolgsrezept. Wer so arbeitet, braucht zuverlässige Mitarbeiter – und die fand er in seiner alten Heimat Xanthi, einer kleinen Stadt im Nord-Osten Griechenlands. Der Schiffbau prägt die Wirtschaft Griechenlands seit Jahrtausenden. Und auch in der Region rund um Xanthi war er über Jahrhunderte einer der wichtigsten Wirtschaftsfaktoren. Doch die Flaute in der ging auch an Griechenland nicht vorbei. Aufträge wurden storniert, Werften verkleinerten sich oder hörten ganz auf. Die Folge: Viele gut ausgebildete Arbeiter suchten neue Jobs. Giourouks Angebot für jeweils drei Monate nach Deutschland zu kommen, kam vielen gerade recht. Die engen Verbindungen nach Xanthi und die guten Erfahrungen auf allen Seiten, sind ein wichtiges Potential unserer Firma. Denn dank ihrer sind wir in der Lage jederzeit zusätzliche, gut ausgebildete Arbeiter zu bekommen, um auch größere Projekte frist- und termingerecht zu erledigen. Ismail Giourouk starb 2019, die Geschäfte führen heute seine beiden Söhne Moustafa und Chousein. Einiges hat sich verändert: das Geschäft ist gewachsen, Prozesstreiber wurden aufgenommen, neue Arbeitsfelder erschlossen. Das Erfolgsrezept des Vaters (Arbeit + Qualität = Erfolg) aber gilt nach wie vor und wurde in einen modernen Slogan verpackt: „The Power of Quality“.
