The Digital West Bank and Gaza Project (DWBG) is the first digital transformation initiative in Palestine, launched with a total funding of $20 million USD from the World Bank. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy (MTDE) and represents a critical step in building digital resilience, enhancing public service delivery, and expanding access to high-speed broadband services. DWBG aims to improve the quality of broadband services in selected areas and enable the development of key e-services that support emergency response, recovery, and resilience in the face of shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Key Focus Areas: • Enabling the legal and regulatory environment for the Digital Economy • National Emergency Response Center (ERC) & expanded broadband • User-focused e-government services and platforms • Capacity building and project implementation support • A flexible emergency response component (ERC) DWBG is building the digital foundation for a more connected, inclusive, and resilient Palestine.
