Organized in 2004, First Bay Power (FBPC) Corp. was tasked with the technical and administrative rehabilitation of the Bauan Electric and Light System (BELS) Electric Distribution Utility, which was experiencing a maximum of 50% overall systems loss due to substandard materials and installation, as well as consumer and administrative pilferages. Staffed by a 60-man company, the overall systems loss of the distribution system has been reduced to 13% in seven months after implementation of new policies and procedures in business processes and customer services, and investment in plant assets and technology with a primary focus on multi-tasked operations and project management.
