The Intermountain Gas Company story began in 1950 when Nat and Myrtis Campbell read a newspaper article that piqued their interest in the natural gas industry. The company was incorporated that year. After five years of hard work laying the foundation for a new public utility company, Intermountain Gas Company received certification from the Idaho Public Utilities Commission on December 10, 1955. Then, on December 31, 1955, we connected our first five customers. Since then, Intermountain Gas Company has grown along with Idaho. Today, Intermountain Gas Company is a natural gas distribution company serving approximately residential, commercial, and industrial customers in 74 communities in southern Idaho. Intermountain is a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group, Inc, a multidemensional natural resources enterprise traded on the New York Stock Exchange as "MDU", Industrial customers account for 43% of Intermountain Gas Company's sales. Our industrial customers include potato processors, chemical producers, fertilizer plants, and electronic factories, and provide jobs for over Idahoans. Commercial customers account for 19% of sales and residential about 38%.

KAMO Electric Cooperative, Inc.(KAMO Power), with headquarters in Vinita, Oklahoma is a Generation and Transmission (G&T) cooperative formed in 1941. KAMO is owned by and provides power supply resources for 17 member cooperatives in northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri. KAMO is one of six G&T utilities that own Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc.(AECI). AECI provides the electric capacity and energy needs for KAMO and the other five G&T’s. KAMO Power exists to serve the needs of its member distribution cooperatives by providing safe, low-cost, reliable power and additional services to its members. KAMO accomplishes this through its high voltage transmission network and communications system, qualified and dedicated personnel, planning, effective system operations, maintenance programs and an economic, reliable power supply. KAMO's annual sales to member cooperatives exceeds 7.0 million megawatt-hours, which represents approximately over member-owners. Revenues from these sales are used to cover KAMO's expenses. KAMO Power and its members are not-for-profit organizations; any revenues over costs are credited back to the member-owners. These credits are then returned as funds are available. This partnership between KAMO Power, AECI and the five other G&T members of AECI creates a powerful network of high voltage transmission and generation resources over Missouri, Northeast Oklahoma and Southern Iowa for the benefit of our member distribution cooperatives and their member owners.
