Melkcontrolecentrum Vlaanderen - MCC for short - is the reliable partner of the Flemish dairy farmer and the dairy sector. Our non-profit organisation guarantees the quality and composition of all raw milk produced in Flanders and delivered to the dairy industry. It supervises the sampling, carries out high-quality analyses on the samples it collects from producers and takes care of both data processing and reporting. In addition, MCC supports the connection between the Flemish dairy farmers and the buyers of milk. The MCC field service provides guidance to Flemish dairy farmers, in consultation with the other partners involved (dairy industry, agricultural organisations, etc.). MCC invests continuously in its employees, in knowledge and innovation. Annually, MCC performs over 12 million analyses on milk samples in its specialised laboratory in Lier. Thanks to this fast and efficient approach, MCC guarantees the quality of the dairy products that eventually end up on shop shelves. MCC's laboratory is accredited by BELAC to ISO 17025, the standard for quality management in laboratories, and ISO 17020, the standard for control activities in the distribution sector. In addition, MCC is also certified to ISO 17065 for the certification of IKM's specifications and grazing and can be called upon within the sector for other certification initiatives. In this way, MCC helps ensure that Flemish dairy products are among the best in the world.

PathoSense is a spin-off from Ghent University and developed a complete sample-collection-to-diagnostic interpretation platform for infectious diseases in veterinary medicine using nanopore sequencing. Without prior knowledge, a full overview of all pathogens in a sample can be given. We are currently scaling this platform by setting up partnerships with veterinary diagnostic laboratories in Europe. Furthermore, PathoSense is an Oxford Nanopore Technologies Certified Services Provider and we offer fast and complete bacterial whole genome sequencing, microbiome analysis and viral whole genome sequencing.
