Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services (MMVHS) is a mobile veterinary practice that focuses on ill and aging pets in and around the GTA. We currently have a team of 10 veterinarians who are able to provide in-home end-of-life care 365 days a year, supported by an amazing team of hospice care coordinators. Our hospice consultations begin with a review of your pet’s medical history and in-take form followed by a discussion of your pet’s current condition or illness. We will discuss your pet’s nutritional and hydration needs, quality of life, pain management and much, much more. An in-depth conversation regarding your concerns, fears, needs, and goals regarding the condition of your pet including frank discussions about end-of-life/euthanasia, where appropriate, will also occur. Following the telemedicine consultation, you will receive a personalized plan to help ensure your pet does not suffer during his or her last days, weeks or months at home. If you are having feelings of guilt about euthanizing your pet or you are not sure if this is the right time to do so, a 1 hour telemedicine consultation with one of our specially trained registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) may help make this heart-wrenching decision easier. We will discuss several ways to determine your pet’s quality of life. We will discuss the manner in which you may want your pet to pass, along with your desires for marking or memorializing your pet exactly the way you want. Although these are very difficult and emotionally charged discussions, owners will often cope better with the loss of their pet if they have prepared for it through these discussions. Finally, choosing in-home euthanasia means you can say goodbye to your beloved pet in the comfort and privacy of home. It provides a peaceful, familiar environment for your pet and avoids the stress and/or pain your pet may experience when being transported to a veterinary clinic. Yonge Street Animal Hospital
Toronto veterinary clinic Yonge Street Animal Hospital has been around for decades serving the Yonge-Eglinton community within the city. It was first established at its current location in 1937 as a branch of the 'Campbell Animal Hospital' by Dr. J.A. Campbell. Subsequent owners of the clinic included Dr. Norman D. Scollard from 1946-1954 and Dr. Wingrove from 1954-1962. The hospitals next owner would be Dr. Andre Belaiche who then served the local community for the following 35 years. In 1996, Dr. Andre Belaiche had made the decision to retire and by September of that year, Yonge Street Animal Hospital was taken over by its current owner, Dr. Michael Belovich. The clinic currently employs an Associate Veterinarian, an Office Manager, a Client Care Specialist, a Registered Veterinary Technician, two Associate Veterinary Technicians, and one Kennel Assitstant. The clinic also has a couple of volunteers that overshadow our staff in order to expand their knowledge in the veterinary field. Yonge Street Animal Hospital provides medical, surgical and dental services to for Companion Animals.
