Joii Pet Care
All of our pets create moments of Joii in our lives, so we're here to help you care for them whenever they need looking after. The Joii app puts professional pet care into the palm of your hand by allowing you to speak to a vet or vet nurse 24/7. 1 in 3 pet owners choose not to go to the vet when their pet is suffering because of the cost, at Joii we are putting this right by making pet care accessible and affordable for every pet owner on the planet. Our mission is to improve the lives of pets, pet owners and vets. You can download the app here to speak to the Joii team about your pet's health: Google Play - https://qoo.ly/36x758 Apple App Store - https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/joii-pet-care/id1436958921 At Joii, we want you to receive the best advice possible, that's why we don't provide medical advice via social media comments or messages but are more than happy to provide this via a free video call on the app with a vet nurse. The Joii Pet Care app is complementary to all cat and dog policy holders with Animal Friends Insurance. Pet owners can access free video calls with vet nurses and vets and paid for access to behavioural consultants, and products including prescription medication, that can be delivered within 48hours.

Veterinary Poisons Information Service Vpis
The Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS) is a 24-hour telephone emergency service providing information on the management of actual and suspected poisoning in animals. We provide direct support to veterinary professionals and the public. Each poisoning case is directly handled by one of our trained veterinary information scientists. VPIS can provide advice on the effects of thousands of toxic substances in small animals, livestock, exotics, or wildlife. For each enquiry VPIS will cover the risk assessment for that toxin and species, the anticipated clinical effects and the ideal treatment protocol with prognostic advice, in order to ensure that the veterinary professional is in the best position to provide optimum treatment. Our advice is based on our case database of over past cases and extensive resources obtained through research of published data. We constantly refine our advice to offer current best practice and ensure our veterinary information scientists are qualified and fully trained to handle your enquiry. Members of the public or pet owners may contact us for a £35 (£45 out of hours) consultation fee on our Animal PoisonLine (01202 50 90 00). This is a triage service, which will let owners know if a trip to their vet is required. We are the first point of call for owners concerned that their pet may have been exposed to something that could potentially be poisonous. Owners will not be advised on specific treatment.

Institute Of Animal Technology
The Institute of Animal Technology (IAT) recognises and supports the benefits of using animals in research. Our members strongly believe that excellence in animal care and welfare goes hand in hand with excellence in science. By our activities we continue to advance and promote excellence in technology and the practice of laboratory animal care and welfare. In 1985 a Register of Animal Technicians was established to emphasise the Institute's position regarding the ethical and legal aspects of care of laboratory animals. Many members of the Register, who are bound by a Code of Ethics, are named under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 as the Named Animal Care & Welfare Officer (NACWO) they are responsible for the care of all animals in designated establishments. The IAT actively support the three R's - Refinement, Reduction & Replacement. We have expertise in our membership that are able to advise on all aspects of Animal welfare and technology. We work closely with Animal Welfare organisations to promote best practice and draft guidelines on the care of all laboratory species including rodents, dogs, primates, farm animals, birds and fish
