About A. Scott Butler

I am a founding partner of Wilson Butler Architects, hence the “Butler”. I co-founded the firm with Scott Wilson after first working together at Ben Thompson Associates and recognizing our highly compatible and complementary skills. We have now worked together for more than 25 years designing for arts, entertainment, and higher education and our firm is about to hit its 19th anniversary. Our firm’s many highly successful projects are the result of the innovative and collaborative style that we have developed together. I bring an inventive approach and well-developed problem-solving skills to each project WBA undertakes. I have taken determined steps to create a culture of insightful leadership and design freedom while promoting an inclusive environment where opinions are encouraged and the next generation’s leaders are empowered to move our team forward. I excel at managing our client’s expectations and wowing them with our results. I thrive in the day to day design, project management and client interface. I actively promote, mentor and encourage our staff to make and develop bold solutions for our clients. My award-winning work includes Celebrity Solstice Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, with The Lawn Club boasting the first real lawn at sea; The Huizenga Pavilion at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Ft Lauderdale, FL; the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, Hartford, CT; Richmond CenterStage, Richmond, VA; and the Center for the Arts at Towson University, Maryland. I am a registered architect with NCARB and in the states of MA, NY, NJ, and CT. I am a member of the AIA and BSA.
