About Aakal Singh

With over 6 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, I have played a key role in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects across British Columbia. Most notably, I contributed to successfully executing the $16 billion Site C Clean Energy Project—one of the largest construction initiatives in the province's history—while working with the Aecon-Flatiron-Dragados-EBC joint venture. My process improvements led to a 32% cost savings, showcasing my commitment to efficiency and innovation. In addition, I have managed and overseen the construction and maintenance of major residential developments, including the on-time delivery of a 10-tower, 14-storey high-rise building. My experience spans both public and private sector projects, and I bring a strong track record of quality assurance, scheduling, and project coordination. Currently, I serve as a Quality Inspector/Project Coordinator with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (BC), contributing to the widening of the Trans-Canada Highway 1—a critical infrastructure upgrade for the province. I am proficient in leading industry software tools, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, Oracle Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, Building Connected, MS Project, and the full Microsoft Office Suite, enabling effective project documentation, communication, and control.
