About Aarika Forney
I am Aarika Forney. I am a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Oklahoma. My research agenda primarily focuses on Black bureaucrats, particularly regarding representation, bureaucratic behavior, racial and social identity, and nonprofit leadership. I also have a strong interest in Black politics. I hail originally from Waterloo, Iowa, where I was born and raised. I received my A.A. in criminal justice from Hawkeye Community College. I received my B.A. in political science from the University of Northern Iowa. While at the University of Oklahoma, I also received my M.P.A. My dissertation focuses on the empirical implications of identity taxation on Black bureaucrats.
