About Aaron Abbott

In 2013 I began my professional engineering career at Kone in Allen, TX, as a mechanical engineering intern. I created and analyzed 3D models using Pro/E, performed engineering calculations, and supported the R&D for standardized company products. In 2014 I was hired permanently at Kone as a supply chain layout engineer. Using AutoCAD I created high-level engineering drawings and performed engineering calculations for elevator designs on major construction projects such as high rise buildings. I learned to interpret structural and architectural building drawings, building codes, and customer specifications to deliver accurate and complete drawings to the customer. In 2018 I was promoted to Supply Line Engineering Specialist, where I became the technical project lead for entire major construction projects across North America. I utilized my strong experience with engineering layouts to oversee the finalization of all elevator drawings for my projects. I gained cross-functional collaboration experience, communicating closely with customers, supply and front line managers, installation crews, and R&D teams. Using CREO I created and modified 3D custom components used for complex projects. In 2024 I was promoted to Supply Chain Project Chief Engineer. Now I continue to oversee technical projects, create and check top-level drawings, list engineering materials, create custom components, and support with any technical questions with a project focus. I embrace the challenges of each day and enjoy collaborating with many teams to best serve the customer.
