About Aaron Bray

In my decades on this earth, I'm proud to have already accomplished a great deal. I started my professional career as a Chinese linguist in the U.S. Army, worked as a classroom teacher for many years in multiple states during a "wanderlust" phase, and also spent several years in Hollywood performing various jobs in the film industry. Family brought me back to Florida where I ultimately reunited with my first love: music-a field I've been passionate about since childhood and in which I also hold a Bachelor's from one of the top music schools in the nation (UW-Eau Claire). I'm currently enrolled in the nationally-renowned Music Industry Recording Arts (MIRA) Program at St. Pete College, where I plan to hone my skills as a producer and engineer while continuing to pursue screen scoring. While in Hollywood, I studied screenwriting extensively, both at UCLA and the Writer's Guild Foundation, but have found the adjacent field of composing to be much more me. The upshot of that prior experience is, however, the storytelling skills I acquired in that time directly translate to my composing and songwriting. Telling a story with notes is not so different from telling a story with words. I am actively interested in music producing, songwriting/composing, and especially screen scoring given both my music and film background. Would be excited to connect with people in these same fields and share ideas.
