About Aaron Byrd
Aaron Byrd was born into the world of aviation. His father, Charlie Byrd, built and tested helicopters for Hughes Aircraft (developing a camaraderie with Howard Hughes himself) and worked on planes for Learjet. His grandfather, Ray Higdon, flew B-52’s with the 2nd Bombardment Squadron out of March Air Force Base. Aaron himself went up in the air with his grandfather and learned the feel of the skies even before he could walk. A California native, Aaron grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from UNLV in 2005 with a degree in structural engineering. He raced AMA super bikes professionally from 2002 to 2011 and still holds multiple world records for such stunts as the longest “endo” (a back-wheels-up maneuver). For over ten years, Aaron has worked in a freelance capacity for Honda, Yamaha, and KTM doing motorcycle R&D.
