Geologist with 10 years experience in oil and gas industry, incorporating both exploration and development roles. Focus has been conventional assets in Western Canada, especially British Columbia and throughout Alberta, as well as oilsands properties in Northeast Alberta. Proficient in many geomodeling and petrophysical programs, including Petrel, DecisionSpace Geology, Petrosys, ArcMap, AccuMap, geoSCOUT, and Geolog as well as other support-based software such as Spotfire, Pason, Wellview, Insight Anywhere (HAL), AssetJournal, and the full Microsoft product line. Career highlights include ground-floor involvement in planning and drilling SAGD pads for Surmont 2, the largest single phase first-use production facility. Includes pioneering the usage of technologies such as extra-deep resistivity tools to assist in both the real-time geosteering of SAGD wells, and also with horizontal delineation towards planning future SAGD phases, an innovative industry first. Experience includes an integrated subsurface characterization of conventional plays in Northeast BC, Northwest Alberta, Central Alberta, and Southern Alberta, as well as land acquisitions & divestitures, joint ventures and mentoring. Collaboration with different disciplines has given me an appreciation and understanding of project-scale evaluation & economics, risk analysis & mitigation, 3D and 4D seismic acquisition & evaluation as well as a safety-driven approach to daily operations.
