About Aaron Ditterline

If you can dream up a product, I’m the one who can ship that product to where it needs to go. I have over 16 years of logistics experience in importing products for manufacturers, brands, and licensees. I love geeking out and seeing products that I have shipped in the wild (public), knowing that I had a hand in the process. Fresh out of college, I was fortunate enough to work under the tutelage of a manager with customs brokerage and forwarder experience. Sure, they were a little old school and would rather make a phone call than send an email, but they taught me the importance of building relationships and effective communication. These skills I still use today to help facilitate smooth shipping, customs clearance, and delivery of cargo. Emails and texts work great, but sometimes a good phone call will make the difference between hitting a delivery and receiving a chargeback. Over the years, I’ve gained the tools to adapt to new ERP systems, Partner with new 3PL’s, Classify Tariff Codes, Implement Duty Draw Back programs, negotiate freight rates, and build a black book of industry contacts to help when issues arise (Port strikes, Ship sinking “see MOL Comfort”). I have learned the ins and outs of product development, production, testing requirements, duty rates, calculating freight costs, and auditing invoices. When I’m not working, I’m busy chasing a 5 year old, working on the ol’ house, surfing, tent camping, and looking for any dirt road I can go 4 wheeling down. I’m blessed to live in San Diego County and take advantage of the sun, waves, and tacos.
