About Aaron Folau

I don't know anybody like me, and I know a lot of people. Of course, I have well refined communication skills, immense passion when it comes to supporting and encouraging others, and an extensive capacity for patience and empathy. But I'm also a Dean's list named student athlete who has captained his team to a national ranking (I'm also very addicted to mother nature and the sweet sounds of music). My background, while considerable, is diverse. As one of the only students in my high school graduating class to attend and finish a college degree - I was born and raised in a small rural village in Southeastern Michigan - I look to serve in a healthcare profession, something also extremely uncommon for my situation. In the last six years, I have completed a two year church mission overseas where I learned the language and culture of the locals, earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science and completed substantial research experience, and led large groups of high school students on humanitarian trips to a foreign country. Currently, I work as an occupational therapy aide under a certified hand specialist where I assist in the rehabilitation of upper extremity post-op injuries. I have previously observed and assisted physical therapists, athletic trainers, medical assistants, and certified physician assistant with their associated tasks. In summary, my enthusiasm for service is combined with my passion for people. I'm not just a student. I'm a student who wants to learn. I'm a student who want to make a positive impact in every interaction. This is where I thrive.
