About Aaron Frahill

I'm a 28 year old from Cobh, County Cork who is currently employed as an Supervisor in the International Banks Supervision Division of the Central Bank of Ireland. I completed my primary and secondary level education in Cobh, where my results in my Leaving Certificate saw me receive a Gradam Award as well as the Alan Minihane Award for Valued Contribution in both 2014 and 2015. I studied a BA Joint Honours in Mathematical Studies and Economics where I graduated with a First Class Honours in 2018. I was awarded the title of Graduate of the Year in 2018 for both my achievement in academic results alongside my immense involvement with the student body and student leadership positions through the UCC Students' Union and UCC Societies. From July 2018 to June 2019 I was the VP Education on UCC Student's Union after running a successful campaign in an election that saw 5200+ votes counted. This full-time sabbatical endeavor has contributed to my skills in the workplace the most as actively working with senior management and sitting on over 30 committees polished my critical thinking, public speaking and decision-making. An interesting dynamic of the role is being part of a six-person sabbatical team and a sixteen person executive, but having a responsibility over 300+ academic class reps which exposes you to a number of leadership styles while contributing to my understanding of synergy and integration of individuals in taking action. Finance, economics and most areas of numeracy are of great interest to me, but are also complimented by a fascination of education. In my first year of my undergraduate degree, I received the John Busteed Memorial Prize in Economics for my results, and this year I also received the Cork University Business School Quercus Scholarship for my academic achievement in my discipline which allowed me to undertake my current masters programme. The MsC Finance degree I'm currently studying brings together my interests and is the area I hope to have a career in once I complete my education, I'm aiming to achieve a First Class Honours for this degree.
