About Aaron J. Trask

I am a first-generation college graduate from a small, Midwest, quintessential Americana town. I’m a father. I’m a scientist. I’m an outside-of-the-box thinker. I’m a MacGyver. I’m a team builder. I’m much more than I can describe in this bio. My team and I in The Trask Lab tackle hard questions related to cardiovascular disease. Physiology and pharmacology are my home and happy place, but we feel strongly to not limit our questions by our own expertise. We ask questions and bring in experts in areas that complement those questions. It has led to many fun and fruitful collaborations and discoveries. We provide the physiology/pharmacology backbone on projects related to coronary microvascular disease and heart failure in collaboration with developmental biologists, biomedical engineers, image processing computational scientists, machine-learning data scientists, bioinformaticians, and most recently, maternal-fetal medicine physician-scientists. Being at the core of all of these collaborations is the best place to be, and it is where I find my passion for discovery.
