And we are NOT a stock music library. What BLAST! is, is a music management company representing a diverse roster of Grammy nominated songwriters, film composers, record producers, and mixers. BLAST! is a creative flow! Founded by Aaron D. Jacoves, formerly V/P, A&R for A&M Records, Virgin Records and Mercury Records. During his years as an A&R executive, he signed or discovered such bands as: SOUNDGARDEN, TONI CHILDS, THE BLACK CROWES, JOHN HIATT, DAVID & DAVID, EXTREME ('More Than Words'), HOODOO GURUS, BROTHER CANE, ALLISON MOORE,(nominated for an Oscar for Original Song-Horse Whisper), MARTIKA (#1 song Toy Soldiers), as well as discovered several Grammy award winning songwriters. As an executive at A&M he also oversaw the soundtrack production of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures, and worked along side industry guru, David Anderle, on several ground breaking soundtracks including, Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, and Ferris Buller's Day Off. Independently, he worked on such films as This Girl's Life, Suicide Kings, and the Robert Altman TV series, GUN (ABC). Most recently Aaron was involved in the early development and management of BRUNO MARS.
