About Aaron Li

I am a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Calgary, with a minor in Manufacturing and hands-on internship experience in the energy sector. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a deep interest in manufacturing, process design, and machining, alongside a strong passion for CAD design and automotive repair, particularly motorsports. During my internship at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), I led a significant site electrification project that resulted in $2.8MM in net savings by reducing GHG emissions and OPEX. This experience honed my project management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills, and gave me practical exposure to mechanical systems in field operations, including plant safety and system reliability. I am proficient in key technical tools such as SolidWorks, Python, Excel & VBA, and MATLAB. My university capstone project involved designing and simulating a multi-stage vapor compression refrigeration system for lunar conditions, where I leveraged CAD modeling and fluid dynamic simulations to optimize performance. Additionally, my extracurricular involvement with a motorsports pit crew sharpened my problem-solving and time management abilities in high-pressure environments. Through these experiences, I have become an adaptable, resourceful, and effective team member, capable of managing multiple tasks while delivering high-quality results. I am eager to apply my skills and passion to new challenges in the mechanical engineering field.
