Aaron Maines is an American freelance writer based in Milan, Italy. As freelance copywriter/storyteller, Maines has collaborated with important companies in a range of different sectors including luxury, fashion, shipping, real estate, yachting, construction and food & wine, working as copywriter, copyeditor, storyteller and speechwriter (for Generali CEO Mario Greco). Client companies include Aedes, Alleanza Assicurazioni, Brembo, Barilla, Cartier, Coeclerici, Europ Assistance, Generali, Gianfranco Ferré, Lavazza, Richemont, Tenova, Salini Impregilo, Ermenegildo Zegna and others. As journalist, he has written for a number of publications on both sides of the Atlantic, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times in the US, as well as The Guardian, Cartier Art and L’Europeo in Europe. He has held newsroom positions including Dow Jones / Reuters correspondent, Managing Editor of the international collectible magazine DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself), and English Language Editor for the Perini Journal. As translator, Maines has handled books, articles and essays from Italian and French into English, including works by important Italian writers like Umberto Eco, Oriana Fallaci, Federico Fellini (The Book of Dreams), Elisabetta Dami (Geronimo Stilton) and novels by Andrea De Carlo among others. He currently collaborates with Amazon Publishing as a senior translator for Italian (The Lion and the Rose by Casaubon; The Mentor by Rita Carla Francesca Monticelli among others).
