About Aaron Miranda

As a 25-year EMS veteran, I have obtained extensive experience in different areas of EMS as a provider and as an educator. I’m an instructor for various EMS continuing education programs and serve as Affiliate Faculty for many of those programs. In addition to my knowledge and skills in prehospital medicine, I have ample knowledge in different areas of technical rescue allowing me to be a member of the specialized disaster response team FEMA/USAR CA-TF8. After honing and executing these specialties, I have been honored by various organizations and have been invited to speak at International EMS conferences and to be a technical reviser for translated EMS education textbooks. One of my proudest achievements has been the implementation of an EMT training program in Mexico where there was none. In addition, in 2005, I introduced and conducted the first Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals - PEPP course in that country. I remain an active educator in Mexico as a member of the specialized rescue-training group Rhino Rescue Team based in Rosarito, Baja California. I was recently awarded by the California EMS Authority as the 2018 EMS Educator of the Year for my training efforts in the fire service, for national disaster response, and education abroad. The Poway Firefighters Association and the VFW have also previously honored me as Firefighter of the Year in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
