About Aaron R. MacPherson

Buffalo, NY. I am a Video Editor, Shooter, Writer, Director and Filmmaker. I am currently freelancing and working as a grip in the Local IATSE 480, prior to that I was freelancing in Washington DC where I worked as a Creative Promo Editor at The National Geographic Channel. Prior to that, I was working on commercials and the national promo spots for the launch of Sony's crackle.com. I spent more than 2 years working for the Discovery Channel editing promos and long form videos, as well as working camera for specials such as "The Puppy Bowl" for Animal Planet. I have also created, directed, shot, and edited music videos that aired on MTV2, MTV Europe, and FUSE. In addition, I worked as a freelance videographer/editor for the Washington Redskins, and edited promo/long form videos for VH1. I have shot and edited for Sirk Productions, set up green screen suites and edited videos for the web, created videos for the E.P.A, and shot/edited, produced, and directed documentaries for PBS. I am AVID certified, and an expert in Final Cut Pro, the Studio package including Motion. I am also proficient in After Effects and the Adobe CS platform Specialties: Professional: AVID Certified Expert in Final Cut Pro/Studio and all the software within. Proficient in Adobe CS, and After Effects. Proficient in creating broadcast quality video. Proficient in working under deadlines, creating new programming, and working within prescribed budgets. Academic: Journalism, media production, editing, multi-media convergence journalism, mass communication and media studies, visual studies, film making (narrative, documentary, experimental).
