How can you deliver effective care to your members, minimize your expenses, and manage your patient and provider relationships without timely, reliable access to data? Aaron possesses the technical skills to design and build solutions while also providing policy experience; Aaron is the conduit between policy executives and technical teams, speaking both languages. Covid-19 was not only an unprecedented pandemic for society, but stretched the limits of real time analytics, data collection, and the creation of algorithms to track and react to disease and facility management. Aaron was the lead architect of New York State's Covid-19 Response Team and consolidated the data used by the Governor and Department of Health to manage New York’s response and inform the public. Health equity is a crucial goal for all health plans, but especially important for Medicaid programs within each state. Gathering and compiling data about geographic vulnerabilities, race, gender, social determinants of health, and healthcare utilization is a task that Aaron has successfully performed for multiple Medicaid programs. Aaron designed a Medicaid Data Mart with billions of Medicaid health care records for millions of New Yorkers. This data mart is used to analyze costs, maintain federal compliance, and prioritize health care to New York’s most vulnerable populations. Unfettered access to data is unrealistic for executives and policy personnel that may lack the skills required to parse the complexity of data generated in the health care industry. Producing actionable data and reporting systems is an area where Aaron thrives. Value Based Payments are a concept already used by insurance providers, but new to many Medicaid programs. Aaron is interacting with policy experts to design data that will inform the next generation of payment models for government programs. In addition to data engineering, Aaron designed multiple transactional systems in Angular and Node.js, and implemented the Kanban method for development teams.
