Background
About Aaron Rogers
I make the wild come alive. I give a voice to forest. I connect people to meaningful projects and information that will make our wild places stronger. As an outdoor educator and as an advocate for our natural resources, I am given a task of gaining support for nature while inspiring the next generation to take notice. I represent park supporters at meetings they cannot attend. I meet with politicians, advisory councils, and other decision makers to see the benefits of robust trail and park systems and see the value in education programming and volunteer programs. As an outdoor educator, I am on a mission to end nature deficiency in our youth. I get kids and families outside and show them how to be naturalists, explorers, adventures and advocates. I have been in the parks field since 2012 and have thousands upon thousands of hours on the front line, leading programs and talking to the public on the trails. I am most happy when I have a group of people on a trail in a park with amazing stories to tell. I have managed robust volunteer programs and I create programs that will bring hundreds, if not thousands, of people outdoors. I currently work with Friends Groups of parks across the Pikes Peak region. I give them the support and tools to effectively lead their park. My ultimate goal is to bring all the Friends Groups together and create a community that is built on sharing resources and knowledge. I believe the outdoors are for everyone. I take pride in working projects that remove barriers that keep historically excluded communities from outdoor access. I also love to mentor high school, college and new professionals to the field and help them navigate the outdoor recreation and programming world. Everyone should feel like they belong in urban parks, rural state parks, open spaces, gateway communities, mountain tops, bosques and everyth in-between.
