CREATE, DESIGN, & BUILD As a Graphic Designer this is what I love to do. It doesn't matter what medium or format the project is in, I want to turn ideas into something real and concrete. Pushing boundaries and working in new territory is why I became a Graphic Designer. MY CAREER PROGRESSION I've been a Graphic Designer for over 15 years, and I've had a diverse experience in the publishing industry. I began my career at Merion Publications as a Production Artist creating advertising, marketing materials, animated web ads and pre-flighting files for press. Learning the industry while attending college, I was quickly promoted to Graphic Designer. In this role I served as the art director and manager of several publications at Merion Publications. My responsibilities included directing photographers and illustrators, the layout of print publications, designing covers and successful re-designs of publications to keep current with trends in the marketplace. As the industry has changed, I've adapted to the expanding role Graphic Designers are fulfilling in the workplace. My love with new technology lead me to be an early adopter of web and mobile technologies and I've easily adapted to changes in the industry. Managing, updating and creating interactive content for web and mobile at Merion Publications became a routine part of my responsibilities. PERSONAL WORK AND GOALS I am always creating. Whether working on a personal or client project, I am always in the process of designing, creating and building something. In my free-time I freelance creating websites, advertising, marketing materials and publications for local entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations. I also run two online shops with my wife, designing and selling t-shirts through CafePress and Skreened. Since I am never satisfied with the status quo, these projects help me to learn and fulfill my personal need to keep up with changes in technology and the marketplace.
