At the heart of this journey is a passion for the ocean that goes beyond the professional - it's personal. Aaron has become a trailblazer in coastal engineering, blending innovation with nature to protect and enhance our beloved coastlines. Imagine artificial reefs that not only reduce erosion but also create surf spots and thriving marine habitats. That's where Aaron shines, leading his team at International Coastal Management to secure a win at the global coastal resilience design competition in Oceanside, California (RE:BEACH 2024). It's not just about engineering for him; it's about crafting solutions that respect and enhance nature's own designs. As a specialist coastal engineer, Aaron blends together coastal process, ecological responses and user interfaces, eco-engineering cost effective solutions that not only boost coastal resilience but have multi beneficial results. Aaron loves working on large scale projects, either direct with government agencies or through other consulting organisations to provide specialists advice and guidance. This may include review of existing coastal designs for enhancement or cost saving potential, or on new sites requiring innovative solutions.
