About Aaron Schmid

Since 2012, I have encountered both conventional and unconventional Oil & Gas plays while assuming the role of Directional Driller. My prior experience as a Driller expanded my knowledge and understanding of downhole conditions, drilling dynamics and dysfunctions. The majority of my most recent high-profile projects lie within the Carbon Capture & Sequestration segment of the drilling and evaluation industry. I have been fortunate to be involved in several Stratigraphic Test wells for injecting carbon as a by-product of ethanol production, and it is my hope to continue in the endless hunt for lowering carbon emissions. My primary area of expertise lies in the vast and mineral-rich basins of West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, both horizontally and/or directionally drilling formations including San Andres, Sprayberry, Dean, Wolfcamp (including Wolfcamp "A","B","C"), etc, of the Permian Basin. Latest areas of expertise have placed me on-site in remote regions of Montana to supervise the drilling and evaluation of commercial quantities of Helium gas. Outside of the Permian Basin, I spent 2 years as a senior Directional Drilling Engineer for Baker Hughes Saudi Arabia, with most field projects offshore in the Arabian Gulf, as well as several multi-lateral wells in the Shaybah formation of the Rub' al-Khali region of the Kingdom. I am proficient in several proprietary drilling engineering programs, with primary emphasis on software including DGI WellArchitect, BH Cadence/Advantage Engineering programs, and Baker Hughes Driller's Databases, as well as standard IADC Drilling Reporting. Not all of my experience in the Oil & Gas industry is limited to Drilling and/or Directional drilling. Several previous positions have awarded me irreplaceable on-the-job training in many aspects of the ever-growing industry. My future goals will not simply be handed to me, for I have all intention to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry breakthroughs. With an unmatched personal work ethic and an everlasting desire to succeed, I intend to absorb as much knowledge and experience as humanly possible in order to obtain and surpass my goals.
