From Underwriter to AI Builder: Bridging Lending and Technology I spent over a decade inside the mortgage world, over six years as an underwriter, and now leading clients through the lending process as a loan officer. I’ve seen how slow, manual, and confusing it can be, for both borrowers and teams. That pain sparked a bigger mission: To help build smarter tools that automate lending workflows and make financing faster, simpler, and more human. Right now, I’m pivoting into a sales engineering role. I’m not just learning, I’m building. I’m actively working on a mortgage underwriting MVP using tools like Cursor, ChatGPT, and low-code automation platforms. The goal? Show how AI can speed up file review, reduce risk, and cut turn times, without sacrificing compliance.
