About Aaron Thrush

After earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009, I have had the pleasure to work in a variety of hospital settings including inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care, intensive care, and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation. Facilitating the functional recovery of patients with neurologic conditions such as stroke and spinal cord injury, trauma victims, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, organ transplantation, and amputation, has been at the heart of my work. Many mentors and superb colleagues along the way have shaped my growth as a clinician and my path towards specialty practice. I earned a Masters in Public Health in 2013, further fueling my desire to one day pursue a Ph.D. in a field such as epidemiology - a goal I still expect to achieve one day. In 2015 I earned board certification as a Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Specialist. A year later, I relocated to Abu Dhabi where I took a deep dive into critical care physical therapy, and in 2021 began contributing to the research vision of our institution as a Research Scholar.
