Background
About Aaron van Kleeck
I began my career with Volusia County government in August of 2003, working for the Road & Bridge division as a Tradesworker. During my time with Road & Bridge I was promoted to an equipment operator position and then a supervisor role. I gained valuable experience during my tenure and in March of 2012 I took a promotion to Projects Coordinator in the Parks, Recreation & Culture division. I was with the Parks division until January 2016 when I took a promotion to Budget Analysis in the Management & Budget division where I combined my operational experience with my education to bring a unique insight to the role. In October of 2020, I was named Management & Budget Director and then in August of 2022, I was named Deputy Finance Director while also maintaining my Management & Budget Director role.In addition to my roles with Volusia County government, I have also spent time as a sports supervisor for the Deland YMCA and as a basketball and football official for high school and youth sports.
