About Aaron Vandermate

Hello, I am a recent graduate from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I am Currently working as a process engineering technician at Gentex Corporation. I have a history of CAD and engineering that originates from my high school robotics experience. I did robotics all 4 years of high school and competed on a state and world level multiple times. My team the RoboDawgs was one of the largest high school robotics programs in the country and focused on STEM material. As part of a student lead program, I was the captain of 2 vex teams with 3-4 students and an FRC team with 18 students. As team captain I lead the team in the design, manufacturing, assembly, and competition of our robots. Through this process I discovered my passion for engineering and continued on to Ferris State for Mechanical Engineering Technology. Today I enjoy working with my hands, building, and designing things. I run a small cornhole business making and selling boards. Among other tools I have my own laser engraver which I use to create designs on cornhole boards and other things.
