About Aaron West

For the past 22 years, Aaron has been immersed in the healthcare, automotive, and general IT verticals, providing innovative technology solutions and leading technology teams. Aaron started his career at HealthStream in and spent 4 years building enterprise-grade web applications. He contributed to high profile projects in the e-Learning space with one spanning the efforts of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the United States Department of Education. In 2004 he began working as a senior developer for a startup company building dynamic Web sites in the automotive industry. Aaron spent five years helping the company scale from 300 Web sites to over Web sites in 2008. In 2009 Aaron co-founded an automotive startup focusing on big data solutions. Aaron and his team's accomplishments included engineering an Apache Hadoop-based platform which processed 260 gigabytes each day into a multi-terabyte data warehouse and a Web Services API which processed over 3.3 billion transactions per month. These notable achievements resulted in Aaron's team winning the Nashville Technology Council's Innovator of the Year in 2012 and Aaron being nominated CTO of the Year in 2013. Aaron served Dataium as Chief Technology Officer for 5 years until the company was sold to IHS in 2015. After leaving Dataium Aaron spent three years at Concert Genetics where he led the software engineering organization in the development of a cloud-based platform helping connect clinicians with the appropriate genetic testing products for their patients. In 2018 he joined HCA Healthcare's Big Data Platforms & Solutions organization and in January 2019 began leading the group as Assistant Vice President.
