About Aaron Yusef Johnson

I’m originally from Chicago, IL, and have lived in Nashville for 25 years. I graduated from both Moody Bible Institute and Moody Graduate School in Chicago, IL, studying both pastoral and intercultural studies in urban contexts to equip myself to better serve and reach neighbors from all backgrounds for Christ. For over two decades, I’ve spent my professional career working in marketing, media, graphic arts/visuals, web-building, campaign building, story-branding, and strategic planning in both for-profit and non-profit sectors, and in ministry. I’ve brought my marketing expertise to WeGo Public Transit, Vanderbilt University, The Nashville Entrepreneurship Center, TSU’s Avon Williams Business School (Downtown Campus), MDI, & more. I volunteer as a mentor/consultant with Missions Development International and Vanderbilt University, and I have served on the boards of the Downtown YMCA and The Operation Andrew Group. Shanell (my wife) and I, live in Murfreesboro, TN, and enjoy our exotic animal pets, miniature dachshund “Marley”, creating soulful & delicious dishes, exploring new cities/sites/cuisine, and actively serving in our church. My faith in Christ is deeply important, and when I have time, I take opportunities to preach, train, and can be often be found helping ministries located in Nashville and beyond, especially on the topic of racial reconciliation. I truly believe in helping build bridges across cultural barriers, and helping leaders.
