About Abbas Sbeity

Hi, I'm Abbas Sbeity — a design strategist and cultural practitioner working at the intersection of design, community engagement, and systems change. Based in Sweden, I split my time between Helsingborg and Stockholm, collaborating with public institutions, cultural actors, civil society, and increasingly the private sector. I currently lead two practices: Creative Insights Studio, where I support public, civic, and private sector clients with design strategy, participatory processes, and research for urban and organizational change. Kulturrummet, a curatorial platform and space I founded to develop site-specific, community-driven programs that explore social, political, and urban issues through co-creation and cultural practice. I bring a strategic, inclusive, and human-centered approach. Over the past decade, I've led regional learning programs and grant schemes for artists, journalists, and cultural practitioners across the MENA region, and served as the program manager of Beirut Design Week (2015–2019). Today, I also share my practice as a design educator — teaching Design Theory and Management at ALBA (Lebanon) and guest lecturing in Embedded Design at HDK-Valand (Sweden). Currently serving as a Forum Member at the European Philanthropic Initiative for Migration (EPIM) until 2027. I'm open to consultancy opportunities and long-term collaborations across sectors, especially those exploring how culture, design, and co-creation can drive meaningful innovation. Let's connect!
