About Abbey Fraser

I have had a long-standing belief that it is possible that even a small number of hard-working people can create community initiatives that have an incredibly long-lasting impact on the health and well-being of many people. For over a decade, I have been committed to preventing disease by promoting healthy lifestyles in the North Dakota. On a personal level, it is very rewarding to serve another person by listening to their concerns and helping to guide them through the complexities of feeling unwell, advocating for them, and providing education about a disease they are living with. On the community level, I have reviewed the needs of the population, tracked statistical data to determine local health problems, and advocated for these residents. As a COVID-19 Lead Epidemiologist and Subject Matter Expert for the North Dakota Department of Health, I lead a team where the ultimate goal is to communicate to schools, childcare providers, public health partners, and other stakeholders best practices as it relates to COVID-19 cases occurring in K-12 School and childcare settings. A few of my most recent career highlights include North Dakota Department of Health:* Designed and maintained a formal childcare COVID-19 response team with corresponding programs.* Developed and implemented a COVID-19 reporting processes using Dynamics Disease Surveillance for K-12 School and childcares.* Revamped COVID-19 reporting procedures for K-12 Schools throughout the region, on short notice, as rapid fluctuations in active case counts demanded new reporting processes.* Presented on behalf of the NDDoH COVID-19 Response team at the North Dakota Department of Public Instructions, Back-to-School Drilldown for School Leaders 2021 on: Healthy Return to Learning Team, A Resource & Support for Your School.
