About Abbey Wheeler

I am a former professional track athlete looking to transition into a career in data analytics. I graduated from Providence College with a dual degree in applied physics and mathematics with a minor in finance. At PC, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in an astrophysics lab and complete a semester long portfolio analysis in my investments course. I utilized Python to generate ionization plots, and implemented a technique called Voigt Profiling to perform a probability distribution on the data. Likewise in my portfolio analysis, I used Excel to perform financial functions on my data set. Both programs have great data visualization tools and were useful in creating digestible presentations.Upon graduating, I signed to the B.A.A. High Performance Team / Adidas based in Boston. Athletics have taught me skills in resilience, discipline, adaptability, and self-accountability. While I was training as a full-time professional athlete, I also worked as an assistant coach at Boston College. I learned a lot about fundraising and effective communication through alumni / donor relations. I was able to work with cross-functional teams and motivate my athletes.
