Background

About Abbie Rosecrans

I bring both heart and experience to my role as Deputy Director of the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence. With a foundation in psychology and social work, my career has always centered on strengthening communities and supporting resilience. At the University of New Mexico, I studied psychology in the Honors Program and conducted research in the Positive Psychology Lab before earning my Master’s in Social Work. My professional journey began in early childhood as a Developmental Specialist in Early Intervention, where I learned firsthand the power of resilience and strong community support—values that continue to guide my work today. Now, I oversee statewide programs that advance and celebrate the nursing profession, from scholarships and leadership development to educational conferences and the Nursing Excellence Awards. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I thrive on connection—whether collaborating with healthcare partners, engaging with members, or creating events that bring people together. Beyond work, I find joy in dance, design, and creative expression, always drawn to opportunities that blend purpose and artistry. I’m passionate about building communities that uplift and sustain one another, and I welcome opportunities to collaborate with others who share that vision.
