About Abbner Garcia

My carrier has started as Lab technician in the Biological Sciences Research Group at Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, following through the Department of Immunology at Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Lisboa, at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the New York Medical College - USA (here I was involved in the development of vaccines for Lyme disease), and also at Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Centro de Histocompatibilidade do Sul. During this professional journey, I had also the opportunity to organize several scientific events. I have worked as a Product Manager at Baptista Marques Diagnostica Lda, searching for opportunities, adapting and delivering a wide range of different products in the field of Molecular Biology and Immunology, both for infection disease, autoimmune disease, and others. I was working closely to the clinicians and pathologists, compromised with the business development since the beginning, giving all support needed to reach the Company objectives. Since 2014 and currently helping make the world a healthier place as Iberia Molecular Biology Specialist/Molecular Business Specialist, pushing forward the company's molecular solutions. I am always looking forward and adapting new solutions which can contribute to help my customers making better clinical diagnostics every day, and most important somehow contributing to save lives. Some of Molecular Biology and Immunology applications knowhow and expertise: – End Point PCR, Nested PCR, RT PCR and Real Time qPCR (using different equipments, such as the range ABI Family Systems, QuantStudio Dx instruments, Lightcycler 2, Lightcycler 480, Rotor-Gene Q Series and CFX Dx)- Fully integrated solution (BioFireDx FilmArray) – Manual and Automated extration (eMAG, easyMAG and others). – Automation & Robotic (ESTREAM plate setup) – Isolation and purification of DNA/RNA from different sample matrixes; – Animals handle techniques. – Cloning; – Extraction and protein purification; – Western Blot, ELISA, Immunofluorescence; – Microbial Culture; – Immunofluorescence and Blote system.
