About Abbott Brown

ABBOTT S. BROWN is a partner with Lomurro, Munson, Comer, Brown & Schottland in Freehold, New Jersey, where he specializes in medical and legal malpractice litigation. Mr. Brown attended Rutgers College in New Brunswick and received his J.D. in 1978 from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark. Mr. Brown was certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 1994, 2001, 2006 and 2013. Mr. Brown is the author of New Jersey Medical Malpractice Law, 6th Ed.(2016) and New Jersey Medical Malpractice Cases, 4rd Ed.(2015). Mr. Brown has had editorials published in the New Jersey Star Ledger and The New York Times, and has authored over 40 articles and has delivered more than 80 lectures on malpractice law. Mr. Brown was an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he has taught malpractice law from 1998 to 2010. Mr. Brown served on the Supreme Court Committees on Model Civil Jury Charges from 1998-2009 and Jury Selection and Voir Dire from 2004-2010. He served on the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice from 1996 to 2011. He was awarded the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - New Jersey in April of 2001. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey and the District V-B Ethics Committee, and as Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
