Background

About Abby Damen

I am an actress, voice-artist, writer, co-founder of Shut Up & Dance and dog-mom. I’m a linguistics major and have always been interested in reading, communication, research and people. I love the outdoors; gardening, skiing, surfing, fishing, hiking as well as reading, dancing, music (the 80’s is my fave) my family, cooking with friends and New Zealand Sign Language. I’m a really good parallel parker and I’m really bad at drawing. I am Wellington-based and love living and working in this city as a business owner, a copywriter, coordinator, networker, administration extraordinaire, actress and voice over artist. I am looking forward to collaborating with new people on projects that make people laugh, think and be inspired and supported. For a copywriter that's friendly and efficient, email me at hello@abbydamen.com to talk about what you need done. I love the challenge of articulating complex ideas, organising information and drawing connections. What excites me the most about writing for others is that I know I’ll get to learn about something new. I’m driven to lead readers to become empowered and educated through effective communication.
