About Abby Frank

Design is order in chaos. It's emotion, influence, beauty, and lives in everything. If I had to describe myself in one word it would be "DESIGNER"—not because it is my profession, but because it is a specific way of thinking. Every designer has ingrained in them a way of thinking that pushes them to look at the world differently, seeing everything as an opportunity for visual communication. I strive to be a well rounded designer, always seeking out learning opportunities and thinking about what's next. I brainstorm and work quickly, pushing through complications while preventing projects from dragging on. While I've often worked independently, I enjoy bouncing ideas off others and working in a team environment as you never know what someone else has to offer. I'm often quiet, but I enjoy a friendly, open environment and never allow my shyness to get in the way of my work. When it comes to design, I'm decisive, always meet deadlines, and have excellent time management skills that I feel will make me a good leader in the industry and asset as an employee. As mentioned earlier, I describe myself first as a designer due to the fact that I think in means of communication and problem solving. Not only does this way of thinking manifest in my professional life, but my personal life as well. I adore traveling and watching television from other countries because I'm fascinated by other cultures and how social structure, pop culture, and communication vary through different cultures and through time. While earning my BFA in Graphic Design at the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point, I minored in Art History, emphasizing my studies on Asian art history. The differences in art and design in Asian cultures vs western cultures like ours intrigues me and I'm often inspired and influenced by it.
