Recipient of the "Star of the Quarter" Award for Service Excellence. Occupational Therapist with 14 years of experience in the settings of Acute Care, Sub-Acute Rehab, In-Patient Rehab, ALF & ILF, and Home Health OT. With specializations in geriatric care, orthopedic surgery, neurology, and psychiatric / cognitive deficits, and a wealth of experience with all sorts of patients. Conversational in and able to conduct basic healthcare assessments in Spanish and French. Currently working as a Travel OT and deepening my knowledge and experience in a variety of settings. My work as an OT involves assessing and rehabilitating patients, implementing purposeful treatment plans, and educating patients and their families on clinical recommendations. Assessing patient needs, setting functional goals, providing therapeutic support, along with therapeutic exercise and activities, adaptive equipment training, implementing family & nursing education and discharge planning, and working with patients with cardiac, neurological, orthopedic and musculoskeletal deficits, psychiatric and cognitive challenges, generalized deconditioning, and beyond. Providing music and art programming as an adjunct to care to maximize patient quality of care and outcomes.
