About Abdalbast Ahmied

After I graduated, with B.SC in Petroleum Engineering in 1995, I used my newly acquired knowledge to gain experience in my field, working at one of the largest Oil and Gas Companies in Libya called Sirte Oil Company as a field operations engineer for 5 years. I was responsible for providing engineering support for routine operations and maintenance activities for the main oilfield in SOC. Moreover, Working with Production engineering personnel to analyze and suggest engineering solutions for operating and maintenance problems. In 2001 I was chosen as one of the commission team members for a new gas-field project in the same company. In this project, my duty was to oversee the pipelines and connections from the production wells to the gas plant and make sure that they were complained within the required quality and company’s standards. Furthermore, I have taken several courses on a variety of subjects related to gas and oil operations in Scotland and Libya. In December 2006, I finished my master’s degree in petroleum engineering at University of Regina, Canada. In 2008, I joined Japan Canada Oil Sands as a Field Engineer. My duties have been managing and optimizing SAGD well pair performance on a daily basis to maximize production, recovery, and operating efficiency. In addition, I have been responsible for generating the operating and production daily report and identifying any short comings.
