About Abdallah Ndour

My desire to pursue a career in engineering was sparked early on in my life through constant exposure to my father’s field of work, telecommunications engineering. The choice to particularly study electrical engineering was guided by my desire to explore and develop renewable energy systems since they neither produce greenhouse gases – which cause climate change – nor do they produce polluting emissions. As Gordon Lindsay Glegg said engineering is all about finding ways to use new materials or energy and I aspire to participate in the development of world changing technologies to make people’s life easier. I have recently graduated from the university of Ottawa with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering with concentration in power and sustainable energy. As part of a class project for Electric Power Transmission, we designed a sustainable 500MW solar power plant that feeds the city of Ottawa and analyzed the profitability of the project. The project gave me more insight into the field of renewable energy and the softwares needed to build a sustainable solar power plant system. Later, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in business administration to enhance my skills sets in decision making, and understanding the impact of those decisions and conducting cost effective projects.
